What Might They Might be Letting Themselves in For?
Bath and West Community Energy are looking to put a hydro scheme on Weston Island in Bath. We wonder if they've any idea what they might be letting themselves in for...
The figure of £1,000,000 caught my eye - as we reckon that the debacle at Avoncliff must be racking up something approaching that amount in costs to the public purse alone due to the abject hubris and toxicity displayed by the Environment Agency in their handling of water licences.
We've been in Parliament yet again.... another post coming shortly on this (edit: - it's up!)
Do BWCE know about the EA we wonder? Add three years to your project planning software right now people and make sure you've a contingency plan for legal expenses and retaining an assortment of specialists...
I would not waste your time looking at went on at avoncliff, you are dealing with idiots.

ReplyDeleteGod help them!! Good luck
ReplyDeleteNO you do not need good luck you just need a friend in the Environment Agency, that helps you can then put anything in to generate power tell them what you want and HEY PRESTO you get a licence. If you need a friend get in touch we no who can HELP!
ReplyDeleteBut that would be a criminal offence and corrupt
DeleteJust wondering if the EA have a cunning plan to recoup the wasted money by putting a bet on at Ladbrookes that it will take at least a year -to the day of the consent order stamp for a decision!! Maybe they got good odds- million to one- because body else would believe it could take so long!
ReplyDeletedo not think the odd would be good for the EA
Delete3 years and a million quid of public money hosed here... and it looks like you've a very solid case to sue the EA = more unnecessary expense to the taxpayers.
ReplyDeleteWhat on earth were/are they thinking (if that's the appropriate word)?
There's something truly pongy and rotten gone on at the EA - no sane organisation would have wrestled this long and spent this amount of (our) money defending their proven wrong decisions - surely?
Even a wilful juvenile (from the video) concedes defeat eventually... The longer this goes on - the evidence from your previous 'doins is that the EA have something quite crushing to hide.
Keep pulling on those loose ends.
No three and a half years a high court order and nudging a million quid.Make the individuals pay the BILL.
